lest we forget: doctor who is very serious business.
"…The ambition and enthusiasm imbues every page of the script, which is so beautifully written-even down to the stage directions-and so rich in character, so vivid in detail, so joyful in its comic invention that it is simply breathtaking. And the dialogue, oh the dialogue. As was custom in historical dramas of the day, Whitaker writes speeches that are redolent of Shakespeare without ever sacrificing clarity; a combination of Shakespearean rhythm and poetical devices, but with an entirely modern vocabulary."
- Jonathan Morris about ‘the Crusade’ and David Whitaker’s script (from DWM: The Missing Episodes)
